3x3 Basketball Tournament Hanoi Open Cup 2023: Hundreds of athletes "burned out" in the heat of the Capital
The 3x3 BFH Ho Guom tournament is one of the iconic tournaments of Hanoi basketball, especially in 3x3 basketball. As the 4th year held at Hoan Kiem Lake - the center of Hanoi city, the tournament was renamed from 3x3 BFH to 3x3 HOC - Hanoi Open Cup.
This year the tournament changed the format to open and allowed clubs to register instead of having to be invited. Besides the top professional and amateur teams of the Capital, the tournament also featured the Next Level boys from Ho Chi Minh City.
Continuing the tradition of last season, the tournament still has the men's U16 content, creating conditions for preschoolers to have the opportunity to express themselves. The category has 6 participating teams, all from famous training centers in Hanoi.
U18 content has 8 participating teams including traditional high schools and 2 famous names, Hanoi team and Hanoi Amigos club. Content Women Pro has 6 participating teams, most of which are from amateur clubs and Hanoi team.
All 3 categories on the teams are divided into 2 groups. In the Men Pro category, there are 17 participating teams that will be divided into 5 groups to take the best first and second teams to enter the knockout round.
Although fighting through the sun and heat of nearly 40 degrees in the summer is not pleasant, the players still bring the audience extremely tense and exciting matches.
Hanoi Amigos won the championship in both U16 and U18 formats, the results showed certain successes with their youth training programs.
Chicken Dunk Club with the participation of Bui Thu Hang - who has just returned from the 32nd SEA Games in the colors of the Vietnamese women's basketball team, won the Pro women's category quite easily.
In the Pro men's content, the traditional team, Ba Dinh Club, took the throne. It is noteworthy that they slipped through the very narrow door in the group stage as the second-place team with the best sub-status.
Ba Dinh Club then defeated the Dwarf championship candidate, overcame the Hanoi 3x3 team before defeating Wolves in the final match, becoming the new 3x3 HOC champion - Hanoi Open Cup 2023.
In addition to the four champions, the tournament also honors the best four players in four events. The named players include:
- Female Pro: Bui Thu Hang (Chicken Dunk Club)
- Male U16: Dam Tuan Minh (Hanoi Amigos Club)
- Male U18: Lee Ha Seong (Hanoi Amigos Club)
- Male Pro: Pham Anh Ho (Ba Dinh Club)
