Ancelotti: 'I won't leave Real until I'm kicked out'
Recently, a number of media channels, including ESPN, said that Ancelotti accepted to lead Brazil - the team was vacant the position of head coach due to Tite's departure after the 2022 World Cup. However, coach Ancelotti immediately denied.
When asked about the future on February 12, the 63-year-old coach emphasized: "I will not leave here until Real kicks me out."
Ancelotti has never worked as a national team coach. The 63-year-old military leader is always a candidate to lead the Italian team, a team to which he has devoted 26 matches as a player. Ancelotti and the Italian team reached the semi-finals of Euro 1988, won a bronze medal at the 1990 World Cup.
Real is losing to Barca in La Liga. The defending champion ranked second with 45 points after 20 games, 11 points behind the opponent and played one less game. Real have 18 matches left to close the gap. They also have the Champions League arena. On February 21, Ancelotti's teachers and students will play the first leg of the 1/8 round on Liverpool's field.
On February 11, Ancelotti and Real won the FIFA Club World Cup. They beat the Asian Champions League champion, Al Hilal with a score of 5-3 in the final. This is Real's second title in the 2022-2023 season, after the European Super Cup with a 2-0 victory over Frankfurt. However, they lost the Spanish Super Cup when they lost 1-3 to Barca in the final on January 15.
"We are improving," said Ancelotti. "This title will give us more motivation to fight for everything else."
Ancelotti holds the record of winning four Champions Leagues as a coach. He was crowned with Milan in the 2002-2003, 2006-2007 season and Real in the 2013-2014, 2021-2022 seasons. He also won one Serie A, one Premier League, one Ligue 1, one Bundesliga, one La Liga and 16 other Cups.
