Anh Minh holds the top of the Asia Faldo Series first round

For the first time at the Asian Faldo Series, Vietnam has a leading golfer after the first round. Minh, with two bogeys and five birdies, finished the round with 68 strokes (par71). Vietnam's number one amateur golfer holds the top of the table with a club from Syed Yashal Shad (Pakistan), who won the eagle on hole 3.

Another Vietnamese player attending the 32nd SEA Games, Le Khanh Hung, ranked T3 with a score of -1. Besides Anh Minh and Khanh Hung, Vietnam has another representative in the top 10, Nguyen Tuan Anh with +3, ranked T8. Among Vietnamese female players, Le Chuc An achieved the best score with +6, ranked T21.

After four years of delay due to the pandemic, the Faldo Series Asia finals returned to Vietnam on April 19, with nearly 50 young golfers from many countries, including Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and Pakistan. , Bangladesh... The winner of the tournament, regardless of age or gender, will receive the 14th Faldo Series Asia Cup.

Faldo Series Asia is an annual tournament organized by the legendary Nick Faldo with the international complex Laguna Lăng Cô resort, with the same passion for incubating young talents. This non-profit tournament is for young golfers 12-21 years old with a 54-hole format. This is also considered a valuable opportunity to rub shoulders with members of the Vietnamese golf team, before leaving for Cambodia to attend the 32nd SEA Games next month.

Known as the only global amateur tournament for young golfers worldwide, the Faldo Series was founded in 1996 and expanded in Asia since 2006. Former world number one, Rory McIlroy, also was crowned at the Faldo Series as a teenager.
