Quang Nam Racer Nguyen Van Binh rose to win the Orange shirt from Pham Le Xuan Loc in the eighth stage of the HM 2023 City Television Cup at noon on April 10.

Ao Orange is the first award born at the 2023 Television Cup, to honor the Vietnamese racer with the best performance. From the beginning of the tournament to stage seven, the 18-year-old driver of Military Region 7 Pham Le Xuan Loc was wearing this shirt. However, after the eighth stage finished in Quang Nam this afternoon, 21-year-old driver Nguyen Van Binh of Ho Chi Minh City New Group rose to overtake Ao Cam.

The route from Da Nang to Quang Nam is only 80km long, so the race team goes at a high speed, averaging 42,013km/h. The Group of Loc Troi and Rice Seeds of Heaven still deployed their formation to the top to protect the Yellow Vest Petr Rikunov. So, a small group that didn't contest the final place left, and cyclist Dong Nai Baasankhuu pulled out to win the only sprint.

In the last 20km, the Dong Thap team - with two teams of Domesco and Dopagan Pharmaceuticals - actively pulled the crowd to chase the first group to bring Tran Tuan Kiet back to the sprint. However, when 500m away from the finish line, the racers of Loc Troi Group, Rice Grain Pearl of Heaven surged strongly and succeeded in bringing the Yellow Vest Petr Rikunov to win the race after 1 hour 54 minutes 15 seconds.

Young racer Nguyen Van Binh, even though he did not have a team to support him, finished second and Nguyen Tan Hoai (Loc Troi Group) ranked third. The second place result put Nguyen Van Binh sixth in the personal standings, he was behind five foreign drivers, so he took Ao Cam from Xuan Loc.

Other titles remain unchanged as Petr Rikunov still holds the Yellow Shirt and the Blue Shirt. Ho Chi Minh City driver Vinama Igor Frolov wears a red shirt, while Xuan Loc - who is just 18 years old - keeps the white shirt for the best young driver.

In the team tournament, An Giang took the lead, second and third were Vinama Ho Chi Minh City and Domesco Dong Thap, respectively.

Tomorrow, April 11, the racers will compete in the 9th stage of the time team in Quang Ngai with a route of 31km.
