England Striker Gabriel Jesus scored twice, helping Arsenal beat away Leeds 4-1, in the 29th round of the Premier League on April 1.

Striker Gabriel Jesus suddenly started when Bukayo Saka was not physically fit to start, but it was the Brazilian striker who shone with a brace, helping Arsenal win. He ended a six-month streak without scoring, and Arsenal re-established an eight-point lead over Man City, although still playing one more game.

Leeds entered the game not bad even though they only kept the ball for less than half of the opponent. Within two minutes, striker Scott Summerville and midfielder Marc Roca took turns testing goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with a shot inside the penalty area.

Leeds was excited but was splashed with cold water when penalized from an unnecessary situation. Jesus dribbled in the penalty area and was kicked in the knee by defender Luke Ayling, causing him to fall. The referee immediately blew a penalty for Arsenal, despite the visitors' reaction.

At first Martin Odegaard was about to take the penalty, and he had a tense look on his face. The shooter then changed to Jesus, although the striker missed seven penalties in the previous 12 shots. He ran and stopped and waited for goalkeeper Meslier to lean to the left before kicking in the middle of the goal to open the scoring.

This goal made Leeds demoralized, and the more the host played, the more excited he became. Early in the second half, Martinelli received the ball on the left, turned back to pass Ayling and then passed it to the second column for Ben White to rush into the cushion to hit the roof of the Leeds net. This is the second goal of the English defender to score for Arsenal this season, helping the home team lead 2-0.

Victory was in Arsenal's hands with a third goal eight minutes later. Trossard received the ball in the right corner of the box, feigned it, and then dribbled the ball down to the edge of the field before stretching for Jesus to cushion the ball from close range to make a double.

Arsenal still play attacking as to improve the goal difference, in the case of equal points with Man City. However, they conceded a goal in the 76th minute when they were busy rising. Jack Harrison pulled the ball into the penalty area to the left, then stretched Kristensen to shoot from the edge of the penalty area, the ball grazed the defender Zinchenko changed direction, making Ramsdale keeper unable to save.

However, Arsenal proved to be experienced when reducing the tempo of the game to block the excitement of the away team, then suddenly accelerated to score. In the 84th minute, captain Odegaard hung from the right in the right range of midfielder Granit Xhaka, breaking the offside trap and headed down the second column to the near corner to help Arsenal win 4-1, exactly the same as Man City's score against Liverpool before. This is also Xhaka's fourth goal in the last five matches in all competitions.

There are no surprises from Leeds, helping Arsenal retain the right to self-determine the championship this season. Mikel Arteta's teachers and students will face a much more difficult challenge in the 30th round of Sunday, April 9, when they have to be guests at Liverpool's Anfield.
