Barca cut Atletico's unbeaten circuit
Before round 30, the last time Atletico lost in La Liga was a 0-1 loss to Barca in January. Since then, Simeone's teachers and students won 10 and drew three at the tournament. But the sublime performance did not help Atletico get the point to leave the top team. Barca made good use of the home field advantage, to re-establish the 11-point gap with second-place Real.
The record of conceding only two goals at home in La Liga this season is maintained by Barca, although they have to receive the team that is in the best form in the league. Atletico scored an average of 2.2 goals in their last six matches, but could not get the ball into the net of goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen. The only goal of Ferran Torres at the end of the first half helped Barca beat Atletico for the first time in both the first and back legs in La Liga after seven years.
