Spain Barca will use Montjuic stadium as home ground in the season 2023-2024, replacing Camp Nou stadium.

On March 30, Barca informed the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) of the move to Montjuic Stadium in the 2023-2024 season and the first half of the 2024-2025 season. The RFEF will notify UEFA in accordance with its commitment to the organization of competition in the European Cups.

Barca moved the pitch to renovate the Camp Nou stadium according to the Espai Barca project. The project has an investment of 1.6 billion USD. Last summer, Barca and the Barcelona City Council also reached an agreement for this club to play at Montjuic Stadium.

Montjuic has a capacity of 55,926 spectators, making it the sixth largest stadium in Spain and the second largest, after Camp Nou, in Catalonia. This stadium was built in 1927. In 1989, it was renovated to host the 1992 Olympics.

Montjuic used to be the home ground of Espanyol club from 1997 to 2009. After that, Espanyol moved to El Prat with a smaller capacity.

Montjuic has also hosted many sporting events such as the 1989 World Cup in Athletics, the 2010 European Athletics Championships, the 2012 World Youth Championships, or the nine finals of the King's Cup.

Barca is leading La Liga 2022-2023. The Camp Nou home team owns 68 points after 26 matches, 12 points more than defending champion Real Madrid. Barca is likely to attend the Champions League next season.

Barca have used Camp Nou as their home ground continuously since 1957, after completing the construction. Camp Nou has a capacity of 99,354 spectators, is the largest sports stadium in Europe.

In June 2020, Real Madrid also had to change home ground, when it switched to Alfredo Di Stéfano - a stadium with a capacity of only 6,000 people in Valdebebas headquarters from the end of the 2019-2020 season and the entire 2020-2021 season to improve create the Santiago Bernabeu home ground.
