'Big 4' is attending Laver Cup
Before Djokovic, Andy Murray confirmed the Cup when playing in Wimbledon last month. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal registered from March, when this year's Laver Cup schedule was confirmed from September 23 to 25 in London.
The first time in Europe has enough "Big 4" since Laver Cup was born in 2017. Murray has not attended four previous prizes because of injury and decline. Djokovic once participated in 2018, Nadal played two prizes in 2017 and 2019, and Federer was only absent last year because of his knee surgery.
"This is beyond my imagination," the Captain of the European Laver Cup Bjorn Borg talked about the direction of "Big 4" in this year's tournament. "They are four symbols of this sport. This is a historical moment. It is clear that they appreciate the meaning of this moment."
Djokovic thinks that Laver Cup is a rare opportunity for "Big 4" to reunite during the personal schedule of each person who has been continuously reduced for many reasons. He said: "This is the only place you can play with the great opponents. Along Rafa, Roger and Andy play a unique event in tennis history."
"Big 4" won 66 of the nearest 76 Grand Slam. Until February this year, the group always had a world's number one position for 18 years. Djokovic's success in Wimbledon continues to hold the dominance of "Big 4" at Grand Slam Grass since 2003.
Nadal, Djokovic and Federer dominate Grand Slam with 63 titles. Murray only has three championships but has been in the other eight finals, twice winning the Single Olympic Games, a ATP Finals and 14 Masters 1000. The 15th is in history. Murray's career dropped when he was injured in 2017. The owner of two Wimbledon titles were playing with one side of metal.
Europe has never lost to the world team in Laver Cup. Legendary John Mcenroe continues to lead the world team in London next September. The world stars have confirmed to attend are Felix Auger -anssime, Taylor Fritz and Diego Schwartzman. As of this year before the tournament, Nick Kyrgios, John Isner and Alexander Zverev were three people who had not missed any Laver Cup.
