Nguyen Thi Tam won the SEA Games gold medal for the first time in the Philippines in 2019. At the 31st SEA Games at home, she successfully defended the number one position in the 51 kg weight class. In addition, the female boxer born in 1994 in Thai Binh also owns four consecutive national championships (2017-2020), 2018 Asian silver medals and two Asian championships in 2017 and 2022.
"I'm in the sprint to prepare for the SEA Games. Going up to the 54kg category will make everything more difficult, because I have to fight new opponents, but I am still determined to win the gold medal this period." Nguyen Thi Tam shared.
Nguyen Thi Tam is currently training with the boxing team at the National Training Center in Hanoi. She will go with some teammates to Thailand for training, before going to Cambodia to compete.
