CAHN player banned for three matches for kicking Hoang Duc
Van Toan was banned from playing for three matches and fined 15 million VND, based on Clause 1, Article 39 of the VFF's Disciplinary Regulations for physically infringing acts.
The penalty stems from Van Toan stepping on midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc's ankle in the 53rd minute of the CAHN match losing to Viettel 1-2 in the third round of the V-League 2023 on February 14. Despite a dangerous foul, Van Toan only had to receive a yellow card from referee Nguyen Viet Duan. A day later, the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF - the organizer of the tournament) sent a dispatch to the VFF Disciplinary Committee to report on the dangerous foul situation and ask for further disciplinary action with VFF. Van Toan.
After the foul, Hoang Duc had to leave the field in the 58th minute, causing coach Thach Bao Khanh to worry that he was seriously injured. However, until yesterday, Hoang Duc confirmed that the injury was not too serious, only suffered by software and could return to play in the 4th round against Nam Dinh on February 19.
Hoang Van Toan was born in 2001, from Lang Son and grew up in the People's Public Security Academy. Last year, he was a key factor in helping CAND (now CAHN) win the First Division and win promotion to the V-League. He is also in the U22 Vietnam squad that won the U22 Southeast Asia Championship in February 2022. At that time, Toan went to Cambodia later with a support rate because the main team player was infected with Covid-19.
This penalty caused Van Toan to miss the 4th and 5th rounds of the V-League, the same match in the 2023 National Cup.
