Cambodians line up for free SEA Games 32 football tickets

Thousands of Cambodian fans lined up since the early morning of April 24 to receive 14,300 tickets to watch the first two games of SEA Games 32 men's football.

Immediately after the announcement from the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC), fans flocked in front of the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh lined up to reserve seats from early morning, although the organizers did not issue tickets until 12 o'clock. According to the SEA Games 32 homepage, 14,300 tickets were sold out, after just one hour.

Tickets issued today are tickets for the top two matches of Group A men's football on April 29, taking place at the Olympic Stadium, with a capacity of about 50,000 seats. The match U22 Indonesia against U22 Philippines took place at 16:00, while host U22 Cambodia played U22 Timor Leste at 19:00.

Before coming to collect tickets, fans register via the "SEA Games 2023" app. Each successfully registered account will receive a QR code, corresponding to two tickets to watch both matches.

After distributing all 14,300 tickets, hundreds of late fans were directed to other locations. In addition to the point in front of the Olympic Stadium, tickets are also distributed near the main gate of Morodok Techo National Stadium, three commercial centers and a cinema in the capital Phnom Penh.

General Secretary of the 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) Vath Chamroeun said that all Cambodian and foreign fans who want tickets must register via the app. All tickets for the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and SEA Games 32 competition contents are free of charge by host Cambodia.

The 32nd SEA Games has 37 sports, in which men's football will be played as early as April 29. Most subjects are held in the capital, Phnom Penh. The northern province of Siem Reap hosts marathons, 20km hikes and bike races. Southern provinces including Preah Sihanouk, Kampot and Kep bordering the sea organize sports such as traditional boat racing, sailing racing, jet skiing, and beach volleyball.
