Chelsea escaped defeat in the 89th minute

Coach Mauricio Pochettino let two rookies Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku play from the start. They dominated the squad that included most of Dortmund's pillars last season, including Adeyemi, Malen, Sule, Hummels and Marcel Sabitzer, the midfielder who just moved from Bayern. The draw against Dortmund is Chelsea's fifth friendly this summer. Before that, they won Wrexham 5-0, Brighton 4-3, drew Newcastle 1-1 and won Fulham 2-0. On August 13, Chelsea kicked off the new Premier League season with a match against Liverpool.
