Having difficulty recruiting Julian Nagelsmann, Chelsea turned to negotiations with former Barca and Spain coach, Luis Enrique.

According to British newspaper Sunsport, many members of the Chelsea board "admired" Enrique's talent. The 52-year-old coach has a typical Spanish ball control tactical style. Enrique's leadership is also verified through a record of two La Ligas, three King's Cups, a Spanish Super Cup, a Champions League, a European Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup, including a shot three seasons 2014-2015 with Barca. With Spain, he reached the semi-finals of Euro 2021, the final of the Nations League 2020-2021, but lost his job after stopping in the 1/8 round of the 2022 World Cup.

Chelsea, under the former owner Roman Abramovich, also approached Enrique after sacking Antonio Conte in 2018. However, the English team withdrew at that time because the Spanish coach demanded a salary of 23 million USD.

Nagelsmann is considered the number one candidate to lead Chelsea, after this club sacked Graham Potter on April 2. European bookies apply the odds of Nagelsmann leading Chelsea at 10/11 (set 11 to 10). Following are Mauricio Pochettino (7/2), Zinedine Zidane (6/1), Oliver Glasner (10/1), Thomas Frank (12/1 ratio), Jose Mourinho (14/1), Carlo Ancelotti (20/03). 1), John Terry (January 20), Frank Lampard (January 25) and Antonio Conte (January 25).

But according to Sky Sports, it is difficult for Chelsea to sign Nagelsmann. Despite sacking the German coach, Bayern still set the condition that any club that wants to recruit Nagelsmann before the summer of 2023 must negotiate with them.

Moreover, Chelsea and Bayern are both still competing in the Champions League and could face off in the semi-finals. Chelsea will face defending champions Real, while Bayern will face Man City in the quarter-finals. Therefore, Bayern do not want Nagelsmann to come to Chelsea and reveal all the secrets of how the club operates.

Before Chelsea, Tottenham sacked Conte, and Bayern parted ways with Nagelsmann, while the future of Christophe Galtier, Carlo Ancelotti or Jose Mourinho was unclear. Galtier is under a lot of pressure as PSG are soon knocked out of the Champions League, French Cup and only Ligue 1 to strive for the rest of the season.

Similarly, Ancelotti's chair is not guaranteed when Real lost to Barca in the final of the Spanish Super Cup and 12 points behind the opponent in La Liga. Spanish media said that the result of the semi-final second leg of the King's Cup with Barca on April 5 will be "the key" to the future of the Italian coach. In the first leg, Real lost 0-1 at the Bernabeu because of Eder Militao's counter-kick.

Meanwhile, Mourinho only has a contract with Roma until the summer of 2024. Therefore, the Spanish newspaper AS commented that there will be a chain effect on the bench to direct Europe's top clubs after the 2022-2023 season.
