Chelsea player was banned from entering the US due to not vaccinating

On July 9, Chelsea confirmed the two absences of Kante and Loftus-Cheek. According to US regulations, non-US citizens are not allowed to enter the country without two doses of Covid-19 vaccine. It is unclear whether the two Chelsea players have not been vaccinated at all or have received just one dose.

Kante was positive for Covid-19 in September 2021. At that time, the French midfielder had to be isolated for 10 days and missed two matches. Loftus-Cheek has been infected with Covid-19 twice in August and December 2021. Like Kante, the British midfielder had to be isolated for 10 days and missed some matches.

Chelsea begin the U.S. tour against Club USA in Las Vegas on July 16 before travelling to North Carolina to play Charlotte Football Club on July 20. They end their tour against Arsenal on July 23.
