Chelsea refused to buy Ronaldo
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says the final decision on Chelsea's transfer rests with Tuchel. The German coach has no intention of recruiting Ronaldo, although he has just sent forward Romelu Lukaku back to Inter on loan. Chelsea are looking for other targets in the transfer window as they are still without a striker who can start.
Before that, new boss Boly is said to be leaning towards the possibility of bringing Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge. Super agent Jorge Mendes met Boly last month to discuss the possibility of bringing clients to Chelsea.
Chelsea also recruited striker Raheem Sterling for $56 million. The former City man's strength is on the wing, but he can play in the middle when needed. Chelsea also have plenty of attacking options such as Kai Havert, Timo Werner or Armando Broha, although they don't have the knack of playing like Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has little choice but to join next season. Bayern may need a centre-forward in the event of Robert Lewandowski's move to Barca. But Ronaldo's $465,000-a-week salary is a major barrier for German clubs, even Bayern.
Journalist and former Norway international Jan Agger Filtoft says Ronaldo will soon have to decide on his future to avoid damaging his reputation. "There is a good chance that Ronaldo will have to stay at Manchester United," Fjortoft said.
Ronaldo scored 18 goals last season for Man Utd in the Premier League, including many decisive goals. He expressed his desire to leave Man Utd in the summer of 2022, to move to a Champions League club. The Portuguese striker is not the same "Red Devils" to travel in the summer, for "family reasons".
