USASenegal striker Nicolas Jackson scored twice and assisted three more in his first three games for Chelsea.

This morning, July 27, according to Hanoi time, Chelsea continued their US tour with a 1-1 draw with Newcastle at Mercedes-Benz in Atlanta, Georgia. In the 11th minute, Ian Maatsen poked a slot for Jackson to speed up and then put his right foot diagonally to defeat Martin Dubravka.

In the fourth minute of injury time, Marc Cucurella missed the ball to let Miguel Almiron penetrate the penalty area and then put his heart into the far corner, sending the ball out of reach of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Jackson was the bright spot on the day Chelsea broke the winning streak. He continued his sublime form after joining Chelsea for a fee of $ 40 million from Villarreal this summer.

In his debut match against English third-tier team Wrexham on July 20, Jackson assisted Maatsen to score, opening a 5-0 victory. This is also the debut of new coach Mauricio Pochettino.

In the 4-3 win over Brighton three days later, Jackson continued to leave his mark with two assists for Mykhaylo Mudryk and Conor Gallagher to score in the second half, respectively. In the 76th minute, Jackson scored the first goal for Chelsea with a quick shot and then shot his right foot diagonally in the penalty area.

Jackson joined Villarreal in 2019 and was loaned to Mirandes. He had to play a year in the Spanish Second Division. After impressing in Villarreal's B team, Jackson made his La Liga debut in October 2021. Last season, the striker scored 12 goals in 26 matches in La Liga.

This summer, Jackson was also interested in Aston Villa and Everton, but Chelsea reached an agreement with Villarreal for paying more than the release fee of the Senegal player in exchange for favorable terms.

Jackson is one of three Chelsea recruits from the start of the transfer window, alongside Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and Angelo Gabriel from Santos. The Stamford Bridge owners are targeting Brighton's Moises Caicedo and Southampton's Romeo Lavia to strengthen their midfield.

In the opposite direction, Chelsea bid farewell to 13 first-team players, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Kai Havertz, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tiemoue Bakayoko, N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Cesar Azpilicueta, Baba Rahman, Christian Pulisic, Ethan Ampadu and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. They also parted ways with Joao Felix, Denis Zakaria when the loan contract expired and pushed David Datro Fofana to Union Berlin on loan.

Chelsea have two friendlies left against Fulham on July 30 and Dortmund on August 2, before playing Liverpool in the first round of the 2023-2024 Premier League season on August 13.
