China postponed the friendly tournament with U23 Vietnam
According to the original schedule, the tournament took place from June 14 to 18 but was postponed indefinitely. The Chinese Football Federation (CFA) said that the time of the organization coincides with the maintenance time of the stadium hosting the tournament. The new schedule of the Panda Cup will be announced by the CFA later, but will definitely be based on the FIFA calendar in 2023.
Panda Cup is a tournament for China to prepare for ASIAD 19 at home. The tournament is expected to have four teams kicking in a circle to determine the winner.
Despite the postponement of the tournament, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) still maintains the focus schedule of the U23 team in June. After the 32nd SEA Games, the team continues to prepare towards the 2024 Asian U23 qualifiers. VFF is looking for opponents. new so that U22 Vietnam can still compete on this occasion, thereby reviewing professional work.
In the 2024 Asian U23 qualifier, Vietnam is in Group C with Guam, Yemen and Singapore. Vietnam is the host of the competition from September 4 to 12 with the goal of winning the right to the final round.
Under coach Philippe Troussier, U22 Vietnam played 12 matches both official and friendly, of which won five, drew one and lost six. The team's first achievement was a bronze medal at the 32nd SEA Games.
Meanwhile, VFF sent Vietnam U20 team to attend ASIAD 19 in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
