Chinese coach hospitalized after slapping the referee
The incident happened on Sunday, July 23 in the match Liaoning Shenyang lost 0-4 to Nanjing City.
When the score was 1-0 in favor of the host Nanjing City, a collision in the penalty area but the referee did not think that Liaoning Shenyang was entitled to a penalty. Off the field, the Shenyang coaching staff reacted strongly, causing referee Chen Hao to issue a yellow card.
Coach Xin became more and more angry, influenced the referee and had to receive a red card directly. The anger seemed to be pushed to the extreme, the leader of Liaoning Shenyang waved his hand and slapped referee Chen in the face. The other members of Shenyang had to jump in to dissuade the angry coach.
Mr. Xin then suddenly fell to the ground and was taken to the hospital. The test results showed that his blood pressure spiked due to anger leading to fainting.
After the incident, Liaoning Shenyang made an official statement on the Weibo social network, asserting that Xin's actions had seriously violated discipline. "Coach Xin Duan has realized the seriousness of the mistake," Shenyang wrote in the statement. "The coach and the team leader would like to sincerely apologize to the referee as well as the game supervisor for their unreasonable actions."
The Chinese Football Federation (CFA) has not made an official statement, but will synthesize the evidence to have a strict punishment for coach Xin Duan and Shenyang club.
After the incident, Liaoning Shenyang also received a red card from Feng Jiang in the eighth minute of the first half. In the second half, the team conceded three more goals and ended the match with a 0-4 loss.
On the table, Shenyang is in 13th place with 14 points after 15 matches, five and 11 points more than the bottom two places, respectively.
