Closing of the 32nd SEA Games today

The final content of the SEA Games ended on the evening of May 16, with the men's football final between Indonesia and Thailand. There are no more events today, and only the closing ceremony of the evening. The torch on Morodok Techo field will also go out at the end of the closing ceremony, closing an impressive Games.

Just like before the opening ceremony, the organizers did not announce the content of the closing program.

Vietnam topped the 32nd SEA Games overall table with 136 gold, 105 silver and 114 bronze medals, also the only delegation with all three types of medals over 100 pieces. Thailand ranked second with 108 gold, 96 silver and 108 bronze medals. Host Cambodia let Indonesia take third place in the last days, but fourth is also their highest position in the history of the Games. All 11 teams won medals, but Timor Leste did not have a gold medal.

The athlete who won the most gold medals at the Games was swimmer Quah Ting Wen (Singapore) with six gold medals. Her brother and sister Quah Zheng Wen and Quah Jing Wen jointly won five gold medals, also in swimming. In athletics, Nguyen Thi Oanh topped with four gold medals in the 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m and 3,000m hurdles.

The official competition dates of the 32nd SEA Games take place from May 6 to May 16, but there are subjects that have been played since April 29 because of the thick program. After the Games, Secretary General of the Cambodian Olympic Committee Vath Chamroeun pointed out successes such as the host taking the fourth place in the history, the large number of media reporters coming to work, the host's free accommodation. for the teams, and the host female athlete Bou Samang did not give up when running to the finish line under heavy rain.
