Coach Arteta does not mind Man City

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta refused to comment on Man City's victory as well as Pep Guardiola's statement regarding the Premier League race.

In the early match in round 27, Man City won 1-0 at Crystal Palace, thereby shortening the gap to two points compared to Arsenal. However, Man City coach Pep Guardiola still declared Arsenal as the number one candidate for the Premier League title.

A day after Man City's victory, Arsenal regained the five-point gap when they won 3-0 at Fulham.

When asked if Guardiola's statement and the fact that City are putting pressure on Arsenal is positive or negative, coach Arteta replied: "I don't know. We just discussed what we discussed in the internals. It's about being humble, working on the next training session and trying to be better. That's our focus. We still have a huge part of the season unfinished."

At Craven Cottage, Arsenal entered strongly and scored three goals in the first half thanks to midfielder Gabriel, striker Gabriel Martinelli and midfielder Martin Odegaard respectively. This match, Arsenal launched a total of 15 shots with seven of them on target. If they make better use of the opportunities, they can win more boldly.

Besides controlling the game and creating opportunities, coach Arteta was also pleased when Arsenal did not concede a goal. "This is a really difficult place to play and our opponent is a very well organized team," the 40-year-old coach insisted. "We had a convincing victory. I'm really happy."

He also praised Leandro Trossard, who created all three goals for Arsenal. Once a midfielder, the Arsenal manager insists that passing the ball to a teammate to score a goal is a complicated business. "When we talk about composure, finding the right pass and the right player, everything is very vague," stressed Arteta. "Some players often make hasty decisions, but Trossard created three goals. His contribution was great."

Trossard just joined Arsenal in January, for a fee of $ 24 million with an additional fee of $ 8 million. With what he is contributing, he is considered a bargain for Arteta's team.

Yesterday, Arsenal also welcomed another joy when striker Gabriel Jesus returned after more than three months out of action due to injury. He entered the field from the 77th minute, and had a few good dribbling and finishing situations. "I put Jesus on the pitch to motivate him," Arteta said. "It's great to have him back. He looks comfortable and immediately creates two chances. Now he needs to take his place like anyone."

Arsenal currently leads the Premier League with 66 points from 27 games, five points ahead of Man City. The race to the championship is almost only two teams left. Due to a 0-0 draw with Southampton, the third-placed team Man Utd is 16 points behind Arsenal.

Besides the English Premier League, Arsenal also have the opportunity to win the Europa League. In the first leg of the 1/8 round, the "Gunners" drew 2-2 at Sporting Lisbon.
