England beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Premier League yesterday, Mikel Arteta surpassed his old teacher Arsene Wenger to become the coach with the most wins through the first 150 matches to lead Arsenal.

After 150 matches, Arteta has 87 wins, five more than the two famous former coaches Wenger and George Graham - with 82 victories. Behind them are Tom Whittaker (75) and Terry Neill (72).

Victory at Stamford Bridge also helped Arsenal return to the top of the table with 34 points, two more than defending champion Man City. They always hold this position after each round, since the 3-0 win at Bournemouth on August 20.

34 is also Arsenal's record score after the first 13 matches in the Premier League. Historically, only four teams have earned more points than the same period: Man City 2017-2018 (37 points), Liverpool 2019-2020 season (37 points), Man City 2018-2019 season (35 points) and Man City season 2011 -2012 (35 points).

Arsenal also extended their winning streak in all competitions to four matches and went 13 games in a row unbeaten. After losing to Man Utd in early September, Arteta's teachers and students won three consecutive matches against rivals in the Big 6, defeating Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea, respectively. This is the first time Arsenal have won three games against opponents in this group since April 2012.

Arsenal also became the first club to win 10 Chelsea matches in the Premier League, and the second team to win on a three-game winning streak at Stamford Bridge, after Blackburn Rovers from 1993-1994 to 1995-1996. The "Gunners" are also unbeaten as a guest against Chelsea under Arteta, with three wins and one draw.

Josh Kroenke and Tim Lewis - two members of the Arsenal board - were in attendance at Stamford Bridge yesterday and entered the dressing room to celebrate with the players after the game. According to ESPN, the Emirates Stadium elite will inject money to coach Arteta to upgrade the squad in January 2023, with the ambition to win the Premier League for the first time since the 2003-2004 unbeaten season.

Before the season is paused to make way for the 2022 World Cup - the tournament kicks off in Qatar from November 20, Arsenal still have two matches against Brighton in the third round of the English League Cup on November 9, and Wolves in the round of 16. English Premier League November 12.
