Coach Bandovic: 'Hanoi has not reached the level I want'
The 3-0 victory last night helped Hanoi FC reach 14 points, equal to Thanh Hoa but ranked above the goal difference (+8 vs +6). They are one of three teams remaining unbeaten, and are winning the most (four games) in the V-League this season.
Satisfied with the player's dedication, but coach Bandovic admits the team is not really complete. "The team is not at the level I want," the Montenegrin coach said after the game at Hang Day Stadium. "We have five more weeks of preparation, when the tournament is paused, but the condition is not as expected."
In January, after beating Hai Phong 2-0 to win the Super Cup, coach Bandovic said the same thing. He affirmed that the level of Hanoi FC players is not equal and that the team can play better if the young players improve their capacity, and the veterans are in the best shape.
Yesterday, Hanoi led Hai Phong by two goals in the first half thanks to a brace from Nguyen Van Quyet. Their third goal was scored in the 80th minute, named Lucao. According to coach Bandovic, this victory is due to the hard work of the players on the field, training and spirit. But he also said that the home team was somewhat subjective in the first and last 20 minutes, giving Hai Phong a chance.
Regarding the fact that Hanoi FC plays three central defenders, the 53-year-old military leader thinks that this is not enough. "We attack with three central defenders, but when defending is still playing 4-2-3-1. This makes the players not fluent and need more time to perfect," he said.
In the 7th round of April 17, Hanoi has a trip to make a guest that is forecasted to be difficult before Binh Dinh. After that, the team had more than a month to continue to improve because the V-League took a break so that U22 Vietnam could focus on playing the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.
