According to coach Erik ten Hag, 18-year-old player Alejandro Garnacho should not be distracted from practice because he has become more famous after scoring to help Man Utd defeat Fulham in the English Premier League.

After Garnacho scored in the last seconds to help Man Utd beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage on November 13, Ten Hag celebrated the goal with excitement. At the end of the match, he entered the field to hug the 18-year-old midfielder and congratulate his students. But in the post-match interview, the Dutch coach said: "Garnacho needs to keep his feet on the ground."

Ten Hag explains that Garnacho's form has made him more known, as he has scored four goals in the last four games. "Garnacho will have to invest more in football, because he is expected to be bigger," he said. "The big players always know how to meet the expectations of the fans, and the young players are not aware of that."

The 52-year-old coach revealed that he saw the potential and progress of Garnacho recently, so he discussed with the coaching staff about using him more. After scoring the only goal to help Man Utd beat Real Sociedad 1-0 in the Europa League on November 3, he created two goals in a 4-2 victory over Aston Villa in the third round of the League Cup. Coming to the match at Craven Cottage, Garnacho played only the last 28 minutes but created many dangers besides the goal.

"The next four-week break is dangerous for Garnacho," added Ten Hag. "Because of not playing, a player can lose focus and not focus on football. He can only improve if he maintains the same attitude as the past few weeks, there is no other way."

Garnacho's performance was also praised by many experts. Former England international Jamie Redknapp commented: "Garnacho can play well with both feet, and he seems to have all the ingredients to become a star."

Midfielder Bruno Fernandes also said that Garnacho "has talent and dedication to the whole team". "He deserves to be given the opportunity to play, and has reaped the rewards," added the Portuguese midfielder.

Garnacho was born on July 1, 2004 in Madrid, Spain, to an Argentine mother. He grew up at Atletico Madrid, before going to practice at Man Utd 2020. The 1.80 m tall midfielder used to play for Spain U18 and Argentina U20. Last season, he was chosen as Man Utd's best young player.
