France was not satisfied with the attack in the defeat of Chamois Niortais, but coach Didier Tholot said that Pau played better when Nguyen Quang Hai replaced him.

"We create more danger in the second half," coach Tholot said after the friendly match on July 23. "Quang Hai and Jean Lambert Evans come on the pitch, helping Pau more maneuvering, but the strikers did not take advantage of the opportunity to score goals."

Coach Pau and Chamois Niortais agreed to use the starting lineup in the last friendly match like the squad will play the main match of the Ligue 2 on July 30. Coach Tholot chose the familiar 4-2-3-1 diagram, with Eddy Sylvestre kicked at the "No. 10" position, and Quang Hai was reserve. This shows that Sylvestre is still prioritized than Quang Hai in this position, when the former Newcastle striker Henri Saiivet is still injured.

Pau was not good in the first half, and let Godwin Bentil score a single goal for Chamois Niortais in the 17th minute. Do not use the entire player like the previous matches, coach Tholot only replaced four people. At the beginning of the second half, striker Walid Jarmouni replaced Mayron George. By the 58th minute, coach Pau brought Quang Hai to replace Sylvestre, and Evans replaced the left midfielder David Gomis. The Vietnamese player created a good opportunity in the 64th minute, but his teammates could not take advantage.

Coach Tholot said that Pau will have a lot of work to do. In the immediate future, he wanted to add two winger with a speed to stretch the opponent vertically. These two positions do not coincide with Quang Hai.

President Bernard Laporte-Fray was also not satisfied with the attack, when Pau scored only six goals in four friendly matches, including five goals against the amateur team in Landes. "We targeted a few targets for the midfielder position, but could not publish anything at this time," Laporte-Fray said.

The French newspaper Sud Ouest said that Saiivet was the best plan of Pau for the position of "No. 10", but he was injuring thighs and was able to support the match against Guingamp. If Saiivet cannot play, Quang Hai and Sylvestre will compete for the official position behind the George striker.

Pau will play the first match of Ligue 2 against host Guingamp on July 30. Each team is replaced up to five people, and it is an opportunity for Quang Hai to become the first Vietnamese player to play football in the French professional tournament.
