Coach Troussier eliminated 13 Vietnamese U23 players

The players who did not meet the professional requirements and were eliminated include goalkeeper Nguyen Duy Dung, defenders Le Van Thanh, Phan Du Hoc, Nguyen Huu Thuc, midfielders Ngo Duc Hoang, Huynh Cong Den, Dang Quang Tu, Bui Bui. Ngoc Long, Nguyen Anh Tu, Nguyen Van Tung, Nguyen Thanh Khoi, strikers Tam Van Toan, Ngo Van Luong.

During the recent focus period, Coach Troussier mainly observed and evaluated the players to choose the factors that best suited the style of play that he would apply. The French leader used some special methods in training, such as training in a rare time frame for most Vietnamese players (20:30 the day before and 10:30 the next day).

During the second training session, from March 8 to March 12, Coach Troussier will convey more about the gameplay and tactical tactics. He also continued to evaluate the force for the third training phase, from March 12 to March 17.

The second training session of U23 will coincide with the time of the national team's reunion. It is expected that the two teams will play an internal friendly so that coach Troussier has more opportunities to evaluate the overall performance.

The contract between Troussier and VFF has a term of nearly three and a half years, from March 1, 2023 to July 1, 2026. He will lead both the U23 team and the national team, with the goal of defending the SEA Games men's football gold medal in Cambodia in May and winning the AFF Cup 2024. The French leader is also expected to help the Vietnamese team create miracle in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, when FIFA increased the number of participants in the final round to 48 teams.
