Coach Troussier strengthens the old game to U22 Vietnam

Midfielder Huynh Cong Den and striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan are on the staff of PVF Club of the People's Public Security. Both are expected to help increase the depth of force for U22 Vietnam.

Both Cong To and Thanh Nhan worked under coach Troussier in the Vietnam U19 team in the 2019-2020 period.

Thanh Nhan was born in 2003 and has just attended the 2023 AFC U20 Finals in Uzbekistan. Cong To participated in the first training session of U22 Vietnam, but did not attend the second round due to the People's Public Security PVF's plan to prepare for the first place in 2023. Cong To was also a member of U23 Vietnam who won a medal. Gold at the 31st SEA Games under Coach Park Hang-seo and in the 2022 AFC U23 Finals under Coach Gong Oh-kyun.

U22 Vietnam summoned 41 players in the first phase, then withdrew to 28 in the second phase. After that, coach Troussier called up four more U20 players, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Duc Viet, Nguyen Van Truong and Khuat Van Khang. Currently, the army is 34 players.

In three weeks of practice, U22 Vietnam played only one friendly match - winning the first place team Phu Tho 2-1 on March 14. The team will practice until the end of March 17 and coach Troussier is expected to reduce the list to 25 players, including three goalkeepers. A day later, the team went to Qatar to prepare for the 2023 Doha Cup friendly tournament.

U22 Vietnam respectively faced Iraq on March 22 and the UAE on March 25. The team will determine the third opponent based on the ranking after two matches, which is one of seven teams Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Oman, South Korea, Qatar, Kuwait and Kyrgyzstan.
