According to the plan, U23 Vietnam with the force preparing for the 2024 Asian U23 Qualifier will gather to practice from August 29 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
The 2024 Asian U23 qualifier took place in September 2023, with 43 teams divided into 11 groups. The group of players participating in the tournament will be born from January 1, 2001 onward. Teams play a round-robin round, calculate points, select the top 11 teams and four high-achieving teams with host Qatar to attend the final round. Qatar still plays in the qualifying round, and their record with the teams in Group B does not count. Therefore, it can be considered that Group B has only three teams, like Group K of Indonesia.
Vietnam will host in the qualifying round of Group C - playing from September 4 to 12, along with Guam, Yemen and Singapore.
The final round will take place in 2024, from April 15 to May 3 in three cities in Qatar, with 16 teams. They divided into four groups, then played knockout from the quarterfinals to choose the top three teams to attend the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The fourth Asian U23 team will compete for the Olympic ticket with the African representative.
