Coach Troussier summons players playing football in Korea

In the list of 22 players announced by coach Philippe Troussier this afternoon, August 22, Minh Hieu is the only player playing football abroad.

Minh Hieu was born in 2002, grew up in HAGL training academy. He was once promoted to the HAGL first team by coach Lee Tae-hoon in 2020, but could not compete for the position. He was then loaned to teams to gain experience. In February, he was invited by Cheonan City, playing in Korea's K-League 2, to try out and sign a one-year contract.

Most of the rest on the list are new players. However, there will be more changes in the future. Coach Troussier will call more players who are busy with the club to play the final round of V-League 2023 this weekend. The French military leader will also watch the U23 team led by coach Hoang Anh Tuan, who is playing the Southeast Asian U23 tournament in Thailand, to choose good faces.

The team will reunite on August 23.

In 2023, due to many tournaments, VFF agreed to organize two U23 teams. In which, the right age squad is led by coach Troussier, playing in the 2024 Asian U23 qualifier. The other team with the core is the U20 led by coach Hoang Anh Tuan, kicking the Southeast Asian U23 and Asiad to accumulate experience.

In the 2024 Asian U23 qualifier, Vietnam is in Group C with Singapore, Guam, and Yemen. The matches in this group will take place at Phu Tho Stadium from September 6 to September 12.
