Cong Phuong was born in 1995, grew up from the first age of HAGL Arsenal Academy JMG with Luong Xuan Truong, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Nguyen Van Toan.... He was promoted to the V-League first team by HAGL when he was 19 years old, but did not win. any title. At the end of the 2022 season, which is also the time when the contract with the team of the boss Doan Nguyen Duc, Cong Phuong decided to join Yokohama FC with a 3-year contract.

Cong Phuong used to go to Japan to play for Mito Hollyhock in 2016 on loan but failed, playing five matches and scoring no goals.
