Dani Alves sent a letter to his wife

Alves said he understands the pain Joana went through, after her husband was arrested for alleged sexual assault. "Now, in these difficult moments, I regret your decision and I hope life gives us another chance to love you again," the 39-year-old defender continued. "I understand the pain that the unfair circumstances we live in, and I understand you can't stand all the pressure. But the truth of my being accused is foreign and contrary to our values. the direction of his life, which is love, respect and effort."
Alves and Joana have been dating since 2015 and then held a wedding ceremony in Ibiza, Spain on July 8, 2017. Previously, the former Barca and Juventus defender had two children with his first wife.
On the morning of January 20, police arrested Alves at the Mossos d'Esquadra de Les Corts station, Barcelona city for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl on December 30, 2022. He is currently detained at Brians 2 located in the municipality of Sant Esteve Sesrovires, about 40 km from Barcelona. At the end of February, Alves was denied bail by the Spanish Court and could face one to two years in prison, until his case is brought to trial.
On March 15, Joana posted a handwritten letter on Instagram announcing the termination of her relationship with Alves. The Spanish model said she has had "terrible months" since Alves was arrested.

Spanish TV show Y Ahora Sonsoles further revealed that prior to their publication, Joana had no idea Alves' letter existed. The 29-year-old model has not made any move on social media or spoke out after Alves' letter was made public in the media.
After his arrest, Alves gave five different statements about the incident. At first, he asserted that he did not know the victim, then said that he had seen this woman but nothing happened. Next, the former Barca and PSG defender confirmed that she took the initiative to move towards him. By early February, Alves first admitted to having sex with the 23-year-old girl. A few weeks later, he accused a 23-year-old woman of sexually assaulting her in the bathroom and has not been honest about the incident since he was arrested because he wanted to protect her.
According to the victim's testimony, although she tried to resist, she was still forced to have sex by Alves. She was then taken to the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, where the person was examined for traces of biological evidence.
