Djokovic into ATP Finals semi-finals
Djokovic only made 6 self-defeating errors, in what he described as the best match of his year. With two wins with the same score of 2-0 in the Red group, the Serbian player won tickets to the semi-finals one match early.
Good serve and return were the highlights of Nole's victory over Rublev. Djokovic has a first-ball rate of 81%, while Rublev is 55%. During the whole match, Nole had to serve only two or eight times. Rublev had to serve two 25 times, and lost 16 of them.
Rublev's second ball was fully exploited, as 73% of Nole's second-serve returns went to the Russian backhand. Rublev was therefore often dragged into the durable ball on the second ball, where he was weaker than Djokovic.
No one had a chance to win the catch game in the first nine games. But the difference in bravery and class was obvious in game 10. Rublev led 40-30, but Djokovic won three points in a row and took advantage of the first break-point and set-point. At the deciding point, the 21 Grand Slam owner scored the winner from returning the first serve.
The coldness and precision from Nole made Rublev unable to keep his composure after losing the first set. The 25-year-old player soon lost the game in the second set, when he lost the game and went 0-3. Djokovic won another game of catching the ball to close the match with a score of 6-4, 6-1.
Djokovic won 15 of the last 16 matches. For the second year in a row at the ATP Finals, he beat Rublev. Like Casper Ruud in the Blue table, Djokovic still has the opportunity to win the championship with an undefeated record, thereby winning a record prize money of $ 4.7 million and equaling Roger Federer's record of six crowns.
