Novak Djokovic is set to drop out of the year-end Grand Slam in New York, arguing that the break is not a disaster at the end of his career.

"If allowed, I will play in the United States. If not, it's not the end of the world," Djokovic said in the interview on the sidelines of the introduction of his tennis complex at Visoko, Bosnia last week.

The U.S. government currently requires foreigners to enter the country to have a vaccine passport, something Djokovic has said will not meet. The Serbian was expelled from Australia earlier this year for the same reason. Djokovic's only chance of qualifying for this year's U.S. Open is for the U.S. government to extend its entry status before the Grand Slam in New York kicks off.

"I am a professional sports athletes and does not interfere in politics," Djokovic denied himself seeking to influence officials to be special in the United States. "I have my position and support the freedom of personal choice. I respect everyone so I hope you also respect my decision."

Serbia media recently published interviews with British and American politicians supporting Djokovic's position. Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic once condemned the Australian government for deporting Djokovic from Grand Slam at the beginning of the year. Mr. Vucic was one of the first to congratulate Djokovic winning Wimbledon on July 10. The Belgrade government then held a celebration for a 35 -year -old player.

Djokovic suffered many negative reactions from public opinion because of decision not to vaccinate. But, some of the influential characters in the felt ball village supported him. The number one former American world John Mcenroe recently said that President Joe Biden should be special for excellent sports stars like Djokovic to come to the US to play. Nick Kyrgios after the Wimbledon Final said he wanted to see Djokovic showing off his talent at the year -old Grand Slam.

Djokovic's coach, Goran Ivanisevic, said the world's No. Seventh player still maintained normal intensity in the near future. He said: "Four weeks before Roland Garros took place Djokovic was not eligible to attend. But then the fence was removed and he played there. We hope the same thing happens in the US expanding to expand ".

In the past, Djokovic often played in the Rogers Cup and Cincinnati Masters to boot for the US to expand. He missed two Masters 1000 in the US this season at Indian Wells and Miami in March.
