Djokovic won quickly in the third round of Wimbledon

On the night of July 1, first-seeded Novak Djokovic took less than two hours to beat compatriot Miomir Kekmanovic 6-0, 6-3, 6-4.

Djokovic only let his opponent win seven games for the second consecutive game. He managed to capitalise on six of his 14 break points in midfield against Kekmanovic before winning an hour and 52 minutes later.

Djokovic raised Wimbledon's winning streak to 24 games, the third longest in a Grand Slam event in the Open era. The 35-year-old tennis player will take on Tim van Ritoven in the fourth round. Rijthoven was awarded a special ticket to the race, but was shocked when he beat back-to-back two-seeded Reilly Opelka and Nikoloz Basilashvili.

After opening four sets in the first round, Djokovic has found his best in the last two games. He got an 88% serve winning percentage in the game on the evening of July 1st. Affirmative shooting helped the 20-time Grand Slam owner to 36 winners, almost three times as many as Kekmanovic. Djokovic made fewer than 20 turnovers for the second straight game. The only thing the Serbs need to improve is that the one-serve rate on the court is only 49%.

"I knew I could play better," Djokovic said after the game. "I always expect the best form, which can be achieved in the next game." According to the top seed, his strong start, focus and precise shooting helped him overwhelm Kekmanovic. Djokovic also got to know his opponent through many practices in Serbia.

If Djokovic beats Rijdoven in the fourth round, Djokovic will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Yannik Sinna in the quarter-finals. Two young talents spent only three sets in the third round. Sinner beat veteran John Isner 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the game, and the American tennis player had 24 trumps to set a career record of 13,748.

Alcaraz also excelled when he first reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam on the grass. After losing five sets in the first round, the 19-year-old has not lost a set in his last two games. He lost just six games against No. 32 seed Oscar Otte on the night of July 1. Spanish newspaper Marca described it as the best game of Alcaraz's career on the pitch, which was not his strong suit.

Alcaraz was also surprised by his performance. He said: "I think this is my best match in a Grand Slam, not just on the court. I am very satisfied with this state and hope to keep it in the next round. To be honest, I came here with almost no expectations, but I didn't expect to improve so fast."
