Do Hung Dung: 'Hai Phong is the most annoying clinger in the V-League'
Last season, Hai Phong had to bring the relegation to the relegation zone, before it was canceled because of Covid-19. But this season, the port city team is often in the top group, impressing with their ball possession, short rebounds and imposing attacking posture.
After 23 rounds, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem's army is only two points less than the top of the Hanoi table. In the last confrontation, in round 21, they defeated their own opponent 2-3 at Lach Tray's home ground. "In terms of scores, Hai Phong ranks closest and causes the greatest pressure because it usually plays first," commented Do Hung Dung. "Binh Dinh and Viettel also followed closely from the beginning of the tournament, but Hai Phong was the most annoying. This season is very dramatic, and Hanoi must try their best to be able to take the throne."
This week, Hanoi will face Viettel. This will be a big challenge for Hung Dung and his teammates, when the opponent has a solid defense and a direct and dangerous attack thanks to Geovane Magno and Nguyen Hoang Duc. Hanoi still lacks captain Nguyen Van Quyet, who has to rest until the end of the V-League due to injury and left-back Doan Van Hau is suspended after receiving all three yellow cards.
However, Hung Dung believes the home team will overcome the challenge, as shown at many other times this season, and aims to win all three points.
After Viettel, Hanoi will meet Ha Tinh and HAGL in turn. The capital team only needs to win five more points, equivalent to one win and two draws, to win the V-League 2022.
Hung Dung personally won the V-League with Hanoi three times in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Before that, Hanoi also won the 2010 and 2013 seasons. If there is one more Cup, Hanoi will overtake the Sports Cong to become the most national championship team in history with six times.
According to the midfielder born in 1993, Hanoi this season faced more pressure when using many new, young and foreign players who also played the V-League for the first time, so they lacked experience. Senior class like Hung Dung should therefore bear a lot of responsibility.
He also affirmed that he would not stay for the AFF Cup at the end of the year to avoid injury when playing the remaining matches of Hanoi FC in the V-League 2022. he explained. "The next three games, I will fight hard for the home team, and the AFF Cup is a matter of the future. I am not worried about injury or facing anything."
