France PSG's number one goalkeeper couple, Gianluigi Donnarumma, became the victims of a robbery at their home in Paris, on the night of July 20.

Donnarumma and his wife were assaulted and tied up by several men who broke into the house. When they left, the group of robbers took with them assets worth about 550,000 USD.

After untying, the Donnarumma and his wife arrived at a hotel near the shelter at 3:20 a.m. Hotel staff called the police on their behalf. After that, the Italian goalkeeper and his wife went to the hospital for treatment.

Paris police are investigating the incident.

Donnarumma is not the first PSG player to have his home robbed. Before that, Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos, Sergio Rico, Mauro Icardi and Thiago Silva all became victims.

Recently, security in Paris and a number of other French cities has fallen into a state of alarm. After the 17-year-old boy of Algerian origin, Nahel was shot dead by police while walking in traffic in Nanterre on June 27, many protests and riots broke out. The French government had to mobilize tens of thousands of police and armored vehicles to cope.

After the robbery at their home, Donnarumma and his wife may seriously consider the possibility of returning to Italy. Juventus are looking to replace Wojciech Szczesny with Donnarumma. The contract between the Euro 2021 champion and PSG is valid until 2026.

Donnarumma has just returned to Paris to prepare for the 2023-2024 season. On the evening of July 21, PSG will play their first summer friendly match when they receive Le Havre. After that, the Ligue 1 champion went to Japan to play against Al Nassr on July 25, Cerezo Osaka on July 28 and Inter Milan on August 1.

PSG is going through a tumultuous summer. After the contracts of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos expired, they signed Marco Asensio, Milan Skriniar, Manuel Ugarte, Lee Kang In, Lucas Hernandez, Cher Ndour and Xavi Simons. On the bench, Luis Enrique came to replace Christophe Galtier. At the end of the summer transfer window, PSG may have to sell Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid. The top scorer of Ligue 1 has announced that he will not renew his contract, forcing the club to sell if it does not want to lose it all in July 2024.
