Draymond Green reveals details of Jordan Poole punch for the first time
After the brawl that took place on the eve of last season, both Draymond Green and Jordan Poole refrained from going into details of the incident. However, in a recent podcast with Patrick Beverley, Green revealed a previously undisclosed truth about the incident with his former teammate.
"I don't hit people innocently," Green explained. "Inhibition builds up over time. There won't be any sudden events that cause you to react to such a violent level.
"This is my team, no teammate would make me act like that. There are things that men are not allowed to say to each other. We know what values we have to defend."
From Green's revelations, it was clear that his problems with Poole had smoldered over time. The veteran player also hinted that his former team-mate had gone overboard, leading to the outburst of a punch in practice.
Previously, Jordan Poole was asked by the media in the capital about this incident, but the former Golden State Warriors player refused to answer. After Draymond's statement, Poole took to Instagram's story to imply that the senior player was not telling the truth.
In defense of his son, Jordan's father Anthony Poole immediately took to Twitter to criticize the player who had just signed a new contract with the Golden State Warriors.
"I believe this guy is just talking nonsense," Anthony said. "Jordan and he used to be very close. Draymond didn't dare to see me all year. A soft guy who didn't even dare to apologize to my wife and I. A stupid, good guy, come in front of me."
The 33-year-old striker also didn't take long to hit back at Jordan Poole's father right on Twitter. Draymond Green said he doesn't shy away from anyone:
"It's pitiful. I don't play every day, how can I avoid him. I always have to go to the family area to meet my relatives. And don't talk like that, men don't do that."
