FranceCeline Boutier is opening the door to becoming the first native champion in the history of the major in France, when monopolizing the top of the table at -11 and taking a three-stroke lead after the third round.

On the penultimate leg of July 29, Boutier averaged 256 yards, hit only six of the 13 fairways, and went to the green according to the 12-hole standard. But with 27 putts for the whole round, she scored five birdies, the only bogey on the 12th hole, the rest all par. Thanks to that, Boutier continued to hold the top position, from -7 to -11 and three strokes away from the Japanese opponent standing next to Nasa Hataoka.

Evian Championship opened in 1994, promoted to major since 2013, but so far no French golfer has won. This time, the tournament also reached the 10-year milestone of "permanent residence" on the par71 course of the resort of the same name in Evian-les-Bains, France.

Boutier is 29 years old this year, is the French golfer with the most cups on the LPGA Tour - three. She has four times finished in the top 8 when participating in majors, including Chevron Championship, Women's PGA Championship, Women's Open US and UK. But in the Evian Championship event alone, Boutier attended seven times, but only finished the highest T29.

This period, Boutier is optimistic with her performance. "The last three rounds took place in different weather conditions and require different expertise. However, I played well. That will help me to enter the final round with more confidence."

At the finish line, Boutier, despite the three-stroke advantage, is expected to struggle when in addition to Hataoka, there are four faces who have won the major about five strokes, including Lee Minjee, Brooke Henderson and also the defending champion, Nelly Korda, Yuka Saso.

Boutier's father and mother are both Thai. She graduated from Duke University in North Carolina, USA, majoring in psychology and economics.
