Golden State Warriors run out of patience with James Wiseman, welcome back champion Payton II
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Golden State Warriors traded 21-year-old striker James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons as part of a four-way exchange.
The Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers are the remaining partners in the deal. In which the Blazers brought an old man back to the reigning NBA champion, while the Hawks took 5 second round picks to receive young striker Saddiq Bey.
This trade helps the Golden State Warriors save nearly $ 37 million in tax penalties for overpaying, including 7 million this season and 30 million in the 2023-24 season.
James Wiseman used to be the great hope of the Golden State Warriors, in exchange for the second pick in the 2020 NBA Draft with the desire to become a quality striker alongside the available stars like Curry, Thompson and Green.
But the constant injury that followed Wiseman made him never play enough to meet the expectations of the team and the fans. In a total of two and a half seasons with the Warriors, James only played 60 games.
