England Norwegian striker Erling Haaland was absent from the training session on March 30, leading to rumors that he could not play against Liverpool in the 29th round of the Premier League this week.

Haaland is the only star absent from the practice session. Meanwhile, the other pillars of Man City have returned to normal after a series of international matches. According to the Mirror, Haaland may have to practice separately because he has not recovered from a groin injury. His ability with Man City to receive Liverpool on April 1 is becoming uncertain.

Haaland discovered the injury while training with the Norwegian team more than a week ago. For that reason, he was unable to play two Euro 2024 qualifying matches, where Norway lost 3-0 to Spain and drew 1-1 with Georgia.

"Haaland wanted to play two international matches, but couldn't," said Haaland's father, Alfie. "It is the team that makes the decision. Haaland is very sad. But it has to prioritize his health."

Haaland joined Man City in the summer of 2022. In his first season playing in England, the 22-year-old striker scored 42 goals in 37 games, thereby leading the races as the Premier League's top scorer, Champions League and European Golden Shoe. In the last two matches, Haaland scored five goals against Leipzig and three goals against Burnley.

While Man City may be without the top scorer, Liverpool will welcome Luis Diaz back. The Colombian winger has not played a game since October 2022, due to a knee injury.

Man City is second in the Premier League, with 61 points after 27 matches. The defending champions are eight points behind Arsenal, but have played one game less.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are sixth with 42 points from 26 games. Jurgen Klopp's teachers and students are seven points behind the fourth-ranked team Tottenham, but played two fewer games. After being eliminated in the 1/8 round of the Champions League, Liverpool need to enter the Top 4 of the English Premier League to win tickets to the Champions League next season.

In the first leg at Anfield, Liverpool beat Man City 1-0. Mohamed Salah is the author of the decision table.
