HAGL stay relegated

Binh Duong HAGL completed the task of relegation three rounds early in the V-League 2023, winning 2-1 at Binh Duong Stadium on the afternoon of July 23.

Tran Minh Vuong's long-range shot and Paollo Oliveira's cushioning phase helped HAGL cut the circuit for six games without winning at Go Dau field. More importantly, this result helps coach Kiatisuk's army to reach 20 points, 12 points more than the opponent, while the relegation group has only three rounds left.

Previously, in phase I, HAGL only won one match after 13 rounds, ranked 10th. Therefore, they could not squeeze into the top 8 to race for the championship in phase II, but had to join SLNA, Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City to play in the relegation race group. Duc's team then successfully "escaped" by winning in injury time against Khanh Hoa and then three points at Binh Duong Stadium this afternoon.

Binh Duong is the only team that has not won in the V-League 2023. In order to raise the hope of relegation, coach Le Huynh Duc's army was forced to push up the offensive squad to look for three points. They forced HAGL to suffocate in the first 10 minutes. However, when they were in a good position, the home team conceded a goal, coming from Tran Minh Vuong's beautiful long shot in the 12th minute.

Minh Vuong belongs to the group of U19 with Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Van Toan, Vu Van Thanh, Luong Xuan Truong ... was elected Germany to kick the V-League 2015. This player caused a stir with the status line "using the youth to stay relegation" in 2019, when every season he had to fight with the mountain town team in the race to stay in the V-League. On the eve of the 2023 season, when a series of teammates left at the end of their contracts, Minh Vuong and Nguyen Tuan Anh decided to stay. And for another season, this duo must join the relegation team.

After Minh Vuong's masterpiece, HAGL fans celebrated jubilantly in the stands. However, the away team only kept the lead for three minutes. With a soft ball like candy Tong Anh Ty removed Le Van Son's clinging before shooting from a narrow angle to hit the net of Huynh Tuan Linh.

Binh Duong then had two favorable opportunities to take the lead. However, Nguyen Tien Linh shot at the right position of the away team's keeper in the 17th minute, and 10 minutes later, he headed close to the wall to hit the bar. Tien Linh is having an unforgettable season with only one goal for Binh Duong. His contract with the land team Thu will expire in August. With his current form, it is difficult for him to get a good contract when re-signing with Binh Duong or joining another team.

Binh Duong this match played with a formation of three central defenders. When the wings are high, they leave a lot of space behind. HAGL has exploited this point well. In the 31st minute, Chau Ngoc Quang waved his outside cheek to pass the ball to Dinh Thanh Binh, who moved into the large space between the home team's center-back and the right-side center-back, then crossed to eliminate goalkeeper Tran Minh Toan for Paollo to cushion the ball into an empty net to raise the score to 2-1.

No more goals were scored in the second half as both teams squandered many opportunities. In the 48th minute, Paollo missed a shot in the face of goalkeeper Minh Toan. On the opposite side, Tien Linh also hit the crossbar after Quang Hung's cross in the 58th minute. Three minutes later, it was Rimario's turn to throw an equalizer for Binh Duong when he took a clever step, escaped the pursuit of Nguyen Van Trieu, but shot over the bar from a distance of only about 6 meters.

The highlight of the second half was Paollo's red card. In the third minute of stoppage time, this player fouled goalkeeper Minh Toan, then deliberately kicked the ball into the net when the whistle blew for a penalty. When disqualified with the second yellow card, HAGL's foreign soldiers approached and clapped in front of referee Vu Nguyen Vu.

Thanks to this victory, HAGL rose to the top of the relegation group with one point more than SLNA, who lost 1-3 as a guest of Khanh Hoa in the match at the same time. Binh Duong still does not know how to win in the V-League, only eight points after 15 matches. They will fall to the last place if the team that is equal to Ho Chi Minh City does not lose in the latest match of this round against Da Nang.
