Hai Phong bids farewell to V-League's top scorer 2022

Failing to reach an agreement to renew the contract, Rimario Gordon left after scoring 17 goals to help Hai Phong finish second in the V-League 2022.

"After many negotiations, me and the team still cannot come to a reasonable agreement for both sides," Rimario wrote on Facebook. "I regret to say goodbye to Hai Phong after just one season."

According to a source from MetaSports, Rimario wants to receive a $480,000 bribe (nearly VND 12 billion), more than double the 220,000 when he signed with Hai Phong last season. But the V-League runners-up could not meet this requirement. Rimario will probably join SLNA after leaving the Lach Tray Stadium team.

Another foreign player of Hai Phong, Moses Oloya, will also leave the team at the end of this season, and will most likely join Rimario to join SLNA - the team with a better offer.

Rimario, Moses both played under coach Chu Dinh Nghiem in Hanoi FC. At the beginning of the 2022 season, these two foreign soldiers accepted to join Hai Phong under a one-year contract to reunite the Thanh Hoa military leader.

Both played excellently and contributed greatly to helping Hai Phong reach the finish line with the third runner-up position in history. Rimario scored 17 goals, accounting for more than 40% of the team's goals and almost certainly won the V-League 2022 top scorer when he was eight goals ahead of the person behind. Moses is the vice-captain and shows the class of one of the best holding midfielders in V-League history. Their departure certainly makes Hai Phong struggle to find people to fill the void.

Rimario was born in 1994, started playing in the V-League from the 2018 season for HAGL. After that, he moved to Thanh Hoa (2018-2019), Hanoi FC (2020), Binh Dinh (2021) and Hai Phong. Through 91 matches, Rimario has 48 goals, is considered a rare quality foreign striker but has a short temper, lack of restraint, leading to an unintended penalty card.

Moses was born in 1992, is a former Ugandan player and spent 9 years playing in the V-League with more than 200 matches. He played for Saigon Xuan Thanh - the club was dissolved - from the 2012 season, then to Binh Duong in the 2014-2016 period, Hanoi FC in the 2017-2021 period, before going to Hai Phong. Moses is one of the foreign soldiers with the best record in Vietnam with four V-League championships, four national Cups and five national Super Cups.
