Hanoi organized a chess award to take the international general lawsuit

Hanoi The Vietnamese players can take international generals at home, if playing well at the IMA and IMB from July 26 to August 5.

On the morning of July 26, the 2022 Chess Chess League was opened at the Hanoi Cultural Center, Hoan Kiem District. The second time a closed tournament for Vietnamese players to earn international standards took place in Hanoi. The first tournament took place at the end of May 2022, right after the 31st SEA Games.

There are five countries attending the tournament, including Vietnam, Myanmar, England, India and Ukraine. The tournament consists of three groups, to get the IM, FM and CM standard, with two consecutive competitions. Session A takes place from July 26 to July 30, and phase B from August 1 to August 5. The purpose of the tournament is to create opportunities for Vietnamese players to find the standard of international generals (IM), the female generals (WGM), and increase the Elo, the standard for the referee and the organizer.

The average ELO of the IMA table reached 2,237, exceeding the regulation 2,230 so that the player was considered the IM standard. Previously, Vietnamese players wanted to take the IM or GM standard, often having to go abroad to play. This tournament helps them play at home, saving international competition costs.

The necessary conditions have been completed, and the conditions are sufficient in the performance of Vietnamese players. They achieve competition efficiency (RP) from 2,450 or more through nine games. For example, the 17 -year -old player Tran Dang Minh Quang (Elo 2.083) wants to check the IM standard must reach at least seven points through nine. Minh Quang was surprised when the championship of the national lightning flag in 2022. Similarly, the 18 -year -old player Dao Minh Nhat (2,269) had to win seven or more points to have the standard IM.

The IMA table has a female player, Wim Luong Phuong Hanh (2,113). To earn WGM standard, she will have to reach 6.5 points or more. Phuong Hanh won the national standard flag in 2020, and won a WGM standard in the Japfa, Indonesia in 2019 with RP 2,419.

IM is the second highest official chess title, after the Great Lord (GM). In the first tournament held at the end of May 2022, IM Tin Jingyao (Singapore) won the championship and won a GM standard.

According to Fide's statistics at the end of 2019, more than 300,000 players have an Elo coefficient. Another statistics in November 2021 showed that 5,482 players achieved the IM or GM title, accounting for 1.8% of the Elo players.
