Ho Chi Minh City, after three consecutive failures in the V-League 2022, coach Tran Minh Chien resigned but was not approved by the owner.

The defeat of Ha Tinh 1-2 in round 8 was the third consecutive defeat of the Ho Chi Minh City Club in V-League this season. Through seven battles, Mr. Chien's team won six points, the penultimate. After the match on July 20, he quit the press conference and then wrote an application for resignation.

"As a self -esteem and responsibility, I take a break for the team to have a better direction, overcome the bad match series," Chien confirmed to Metasports on the afternoon of July 21. "However, the club leaders did not accept this option. The brothers encouraged me to continue the work. The contract was still limited so I need to comply."

Tran Minh Chien has led the HCMC Club from the beginning of 2022 after breaking up with the first -class Ba Ria Vung Tau. Unlike the previous seasons, the current force of the Ho Chi Minh City Club is thin, the player is often not high quality and foreign injuries. In the process of preparing in early April, Mr. Chien also faced many difficulties when 11 players struggled, giving up to protest the club's policy.

"I tried my best, but could not help Ho Chi Minh City to achieve the desired goal. Work, "Mr. Chien added.

In the next rounds, Ho Chi Minh City met Viettel, Hai Phong and Nam Dinh respectively. According to some sources, if the achievement has not improved, this team leader will consider the plan to "replace the general". Former players Nguyen Minh Phuong, Nguyen Tuan Phong and even Chairman Nguyen Huu Thang may sit in the hot seat.

Minh Chien was born in 1974, once wore a Ho Chi Minh City Police and was a top scorer of the 1995 National Championship. After having to retire early because of injury, he worked for a young training at PVF. In 2018, he led Binh Duong, helping the team to win the national cup. In 2019, he brought the second -class Ba Ria Vung Tau ranked first and continuously present in the first group.

This is the first season of the Saigon team to use domestic coach since going to the V-League 2017. Previously, they used foreign coach, respectively Alain Fiard (France), Toshiya Miura (Japan), Chung Chung Hae-sooung (Korea) and Alexandre Polking (Germany-Brazil).
