Ho Chi Minh City Wings announce the first contract of 2023: Welcome coach Phan Thanh Canh

Arriving at the new team, Mr. Phan Thanh Canh will be the head coach of the Ho Chi Minh City Wings youth team. The contract duration has not been disclosed.

Phan Thanh Canh is one of the most experienced domestic coaches, forging over 10 years in many arenas both at home and abroad.

He is the head coach of Danang Dragons Club playing at VBA from 2019 to present. In addition, many times playing the role of assistant coach in the color of the Vietnamese national team, participating in the last three SEA Games.

It can be seen that this is an ambitious move of Ho Chi Minh City Wings, determined to improve performance and build a foundation for the youth team. This will contribute to creating a premise for the long-term development of both quantity and quality of personnel of "two eagles".

If coach Erik Olson is the chief architect of the first team with his third year of working with Ho Chi Minh City Wings, in the youth team, the head coach chair has continuously changed hands.

The name of Mr. Phan Thanh Canh's predecessor was Swedish coach Sirwan Haso. He used to lead two youth teams of City Wings to compete in the national youth league system organized by the Vietnam Basketball Federation.

Coming to Ho Chi Minh City Wings, coach Phan Thanh Canh's immediate goal will be the National U23 Basketball Championship taking place in April in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
