In an interview with the leading Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, female striker Huynh Nhu said that she made the right decision to play for Lank Vilaverdense.

- How did the story of the player who scored the most goals in the history of the Vietnamese team begin?

- I started playing football at the age of five, inspired by my parents. Mom likes to watch football, and my dad is a footballer so he taught me everything I know about football as of today. My parents spent a lot of time with me, and have always supported me throughout my career. At first, there were no female players to play with, so I played with boys. I was the captain of a U9 team, won a tournament (men and women competed together) and became the top scorer. It started there.

Huynh Nhu is the first Vietnamese female player to play football in Europe. How does that affect colleagues who want to follow in the footsteps of Like?

- I hope my journey will motivate many players to go abroad, especially female colleagues to continue pursuing their dreams. I hope there will be many Vietnamese players who take risks to go to Europe. I encourage young players to go abroad earlier, to develop themselves better and faster, to help bring success to the club as well as the national team.

- How did the opportunity to go to Portugal appear for Huynh Nhu?

- I learned of Lank Vilaverdense's offer through an agent. After thinking a lot as well as researching carefully about the Portuguese team and championship, I want to get out of my comfort zone and come here to play. Lank's strategy impressed me, so take the risk and embrace this adventure. Now I'm happy because I feel like I made the right decision.

- What was Huynh Nhu's process of integrating and adapting to the new environment when she first lived abroad?

- The Portuguese are very friendly and attentive. The members at Lank welcomed me warmly and helped me adapt faster. When working with talented and dedicated people, I feel happy and comfortable. The players and team members were always willing to help me overcome the difficulties at the beginning of this journey.

- What do Huynh Nhu appreciate most in Portugal?

- I really like Portuguese food. Since coming here, I have tasted countless dishes and they have all been delicious. Honestly, I fell in love with the food here.

Huynh Nhu is achieving an impressive record with six goals and two assists in 14 matches. Have you scored as many goals before, or has the record improved over time?

- When I started playing football, I was a striker and scored many goals. Thanks to the coaching staff and teammates, I also scored many goals in my career, achieved achievements. But every player always has the opportunity to develop himself, especially when adapting to new environments and leagues.

- Do you have any superstitions that you always do before each match?

- I think every player has his own habits or superstitions, and I am no exception. But I want to keep this a secret, maybe I will share when I retire.

- Can you tell us a bit about the current state of Vietnamese football?

- There is a difference between men's and women's football in Vietnam. In recent years, Vietnamese football has received more attention, but there is still a long way to go. Hopefully, Vietnamese women's football can develop professionally like Portugal.

- What are the differences and similarities of Vietnamese football with Portugal?

- Currently, the women's professional tournament system, as well as the quality of Vietnamese clubs, cannot be compared with Portugal. The quality of our coach and training system is not as modern as yours. But the playing style of the two football backgrounds is not much different. Portugal women's football is developing very well thanks to the investment in the past years. I am very impressed with what I see here.
