Joel Embiid fouls and James Harden gets sent off, 76ers survive Brooklyn
Both Philadelphia 76ers stars Joel Embiid and James Harden had problems with the referee. Harden was also expelled from the field for foul play level 2 (flagrant-2).
However, this did not affect the final result as the Sixers stood firm in the final round, winning 102-97 over Brooklyn Nets in Game 3 series Playoffs round 1.
The match heated up right from the first half when Joel Embiid on the 76ers and Brooklyn Nets striker Nic Claxton collided in the area under the basket.
Claxton intended to step over Embiid (then lying on the field) and the MVP candidate was not happy with this. He responded by kicking Claxton and knocking down the Nets' striker.
The referee immediately blew the whistle to separate the two "hot heads", then reviewed the video to give a penalty.As a result, Embiid was blown for a level 1 (flagrant-1) foul, while Nic Claxton received a penalty. 1 technical error due to intentionally stepping over the opponent.
Tension between these two players did not end when they once again collided after a rebound challenge late in the half. This time Embiid had to leave the field and return to the changing room to be taken care of by the doctors, then returned to play in the middle of the second half.
In the third round, it was James Harden's turn to "speak." From an ordinary pass, Harden appeared to have swung his arm into the crotch of defender Royce O'Neale.
The referee reviewed the situation on the video and determined it was a level 2 foul (flagrant-2), thereby suddenly displacing James Harden.
Leaving the field early with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Harden told reporters after the game that he hadn't even touched O'Neale's "sensitive zone".
Not long after James Harden, this match saw another player sent off, Nic Claxton. Bigman of Brooklyn Nets after a dunk hit the opponent and was penalized for 1 technical foul.Due to two technical fouls, Claxton was expelled from the match.
The many rude errors with two players being sent off show the heat of the NBA Playoffs, where teams always play more fiercely, endure more collisions and show great determination to win.
Joel Embiid, after avoiding the banish error in the first half, suppressed his pain throughout the match, closing this Game 3 with a block to "rescue" the Philadelphia 76ers.
Joel Embiid's well-timed ball prevented the Brooklyn Nets from equalizing, thereby helping Philly's team win 102-97.
The Philadelphia 76ers are currently leading Brooklyn 3-0 and have the ability to "take the broom" if they win Game 4. The match will take place at 0:00 am on April 23.
