Juventus won after the chase with the bottom of the Serie A table
In the match against the bottom team on the evening of March 12, Juventus did not have Moise Kean due to a suspension. Players Angel Di Maria, Federico Chiesa, Alex Sandro, Arkadiusz Milik, Paul Pogba and Kaio Jorge were also unable to play due to injury. Meanwhile, Sampdoria was forced to use 19-year-old goalkeeper Martin Turk.
Sampdoria could have opened the scoring, if they took advantage of the opportunity after the mistake of losing the ball of midfielder Bremer. In this situation, Manolo Gabbiadini shot straight at goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
In the seventh minute, Bremer redeemed himself with Juventus. After Kostic's corner, the Brazilian midfielder headed from seven yards to open the scoring. Sampdoria continued to lack vigilance after the first goal. In the 26th minute, Juventus again scored from an aerial phase. After Miretti's cross, Adrien Rabiot headed home to make it 2-0. This is the sixth aerial goal in the last eight matches of Juventus.
The match became more exciting from the middle of the first half. Sampdoria has a better focus on attack. Meanwhile, Juventus showed signs of loosening after two early goals.
In the 31st minute, the bottom team equalized the first goal from a situation where Leris hit Danilo. After the ball bounced off, Augello shot dangerously from about 11 meters into the net of Juventus. Sampdoria continued to surprise just 72 seconds later. This time, Zanoli crossed to the right and then passed it back, letting Djuricic shoot from 10 yards to equalize.
The equalizer was so fast that the home fans turned to mock Juventus. They had to leave the field after the first half to boos.
Coach Max Allegri put Juan Cuadrado and Manuel Locatelli on the field right after the break. The presence of these two players helps the home team dominate the game and attack better. In the 64th minute, Juventus raised the score to 3-2. Rabiot caught the ball with his chest and shot into Sampdoria's goal. The away players thought that the ball had touched Rabiot's hand, but the referee still recognized the goal after consulting VAR.
Juventus could have increased the score in the 69th minute, if they could take advantage of the 11m after Cuadrado was fouled. However, Dusan Vlahovic missed the penalty.
At the end of the game, Turk saved two goals from Soule and Cuadrado's shots. But the 19-year-old goalkeeper once again had to go into the net to pick up the ball in the 90+4 minute. After Turk pushed Vlahovic's header, Soule scored his first Serie A goal.
The victory over Sampdoria helps Juventus to reach the European Cup group. "The old lady" is ranked seventh in Serie A with 38 points after 26 matches, four points behind the sixth-placed team Atalanta. Had it not been for the 15 point deduction for falsifying financial statements, Juventus would have been ranked second with 53 points.
