Germany's Harry Kane stopped scoring after two consecutive goals, but Bayern was still able to beat Moenchengladbach 2-1 in the third round of the Bundesliga.

During the trip to Borussia-Park on the evening of September 2, Kane almost had no chance to score. His teammates' passes to the English striker were often inaccurate, or were cleared by goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas and the opponent's defenders. Kane's most dangerous situation was a high bounce to catch a cross in the 51st minute, but Nicolas promptly pushed the ball out of bounds. In the 90th minute, he had to leave the field to make way for Matthijs De Ligt, thereby ending the streak of two consecutive goals.

Not only did they neutralize Bayern's expensive striker, Moenchengladbach also made good use of fixed situations. In the 25th minute, from Alassane Plea's free kick, Marvin Friedrich headed the Bayern crossbar. Four minutes later, from Wober's corner, defender Ko Itakura headed the ball diagonally to open the score for the home team.

Bayern only played effectively from the end of the first half. If the crossbar had not refused, Leroy Sane could have equalized with a strong shot in the 39th minute. Returning after the break, Bayern increased the pace. After many advances, the away team equalized in the 58th minute. After receiving a high pass from Joshua Kimmich, Sane used his chest to block the ball and then volleyed it past Nicolas.

The equalizer helped Bayern play more comfortably. In the last 30 minutes, the ball almost rolled on the field of Moenchengladbach. In the 70th minute, Serge Gnabry headed an empty header in the 5m50 area, but could not beat the goalkeeper.

Towards the end of the game, Moenchengladbach reinforced the defense to protect a point. Coach Gerardo Seoane repeatedly sent defenders Lukas Ullrich, Tony Jantschke and Nico Elvedi onto the field. However, they only lasted 87 minutes. After Kimmich's corner, the striker replaced Leon Goretzka a few minutes earlier, Mathys Tel headed home to make it 2-1 for Bayern.

Bayern continues to rank second in the Bundesliga with an absolute nine points and a difference of +7. Leverkusen also has nine points, but is ranked higher with a difference of +8. Meanwhile, Moenchengladbach has only one point after three rounds, and fell to 15th.
