Kevin Durant injured during... warm-up, precious 2-3 weeks with Phoenix Suns
Reputable journalist Shams Charania of The Athletic has just reported that Kevin Durant will be out for about 2-3 weeks due to an ankle injury.
KD has only played 3 times for the Phoenix Suns since being traded from the Brooklyn Nets. He did not have time to have his first game at home of the Phoenix team and was unfortunately injured.
Some initial information said that Durant could be out of action for about 6 weeks, missing the rest of the Regular Season completely. But after the news from reputable journalist Shams Charania appeared, things seem to have turned more positive for KD and Phoenix Suns fans.
It is worth mentioning that Kevin Durant flipped his ankle before he even entered the field. He was unfortunately injured in a very normal warm-up phase.
Immediately after the flip, Durant got up and still completed the warm-up lesson plan. However, he was removed from the list of players registered to play just before the tip-off time.
This is the second injury that keeps Kevin Durant out of action for a long time this season. Last time he had a knee ligament (MCL) strain and missed 20 games.
Having to sit out for 2-3 weeks will temporarily interrupt Durant's period of extreme sublimation in the Phoenix Suns shirt. Over 3 games, he has averaged more than 27 points with incredible efficiency, placing 69% of FG.
“I feel sorry for him. Looking at Kevin's face right after the injury, I could see how frustrated he was," head coach Monty Williams shared about the incident.
Because the Phoenix Suns had to trade a lot of important pieces to bring back Kevin Durant, the next 2-3 weeks will be a difficult period for the team's forces.
Another key factor is that Durant will spend 2-3 precious weeks getting to know his new teammates on the field, building cohesion and better understanding how Monty Williams' play runs.
