According to Jurgen Klopp, he is still in charge at Liverpool at this time thanks to his past success, not his current form and results.

"I am aware of the fact that I am sitting here thanks to my past success, not what Liverpool have done this season," Klopp said on April 3, at a press conference before the matchday 8 of the Premier League. Meet Chelsea.

Klopp's teachers and students just lost to Man City 1-4 on April 1. It was their eighth defeat away from home this season. Liverpool are eighth, with eight points less than fourth-place Tottenham. Despite the decline of the home team, Klopp's position at Anfield has never been shaken based on the reputation he has built.

According to Klopp, his current situation would be different if Liverpool played erratically as they did in his first season in charge. The German coach insists he has no concerns or fears for his future, but admits that Graham Potter was the same way before being sacked by Chelsea.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. I'm not here to make amulets or murals. I'm here to fulfill the club's request. I understand that 100 per cent and have nothing else in mind. But I'm also here. understand that I am favored now because of my past success. I hate to admit that fact. Whether that is true or not, we have to wait for the future to know," Klopp said.

The 55-year-old military leader was also disappointed that Liverpool could not play as expected. However, he insists he will not change the method of working with the team, until a better solution is found.

Klopp also paid tribute to Potter and Brendan Rodgers, who were recently sacked by Leicester. These two, along with Antonio Conte (Tottenham) and Julian Nagelsmann (Bayern) made the past week bleak for coaches when they lost their jobs respectively, and Klopp thinks he is lucky not to be in the same situation as his colleagues.

"The season has entered an important phase and some people fear the club will not achieve its goals. With all four coaches mentioned above, bright futures still await them ahead. This is not a disaster, just a situation. they don't like to fall in," said Klopp.

Like Liverpool, Chelsea, under interim coach Bruno Saltor, are also looking to recover from the 0-2 loss to Aston Villa over the weekend. Klopp admits it is difficult to make a big change in the two teams after a few days, but spirit will be a prerequisite in the next match.
